Getting crafty

A history of the Scouts included some of our residents testing their skills at knot making.

Our residents were treated to an Oscars themed day.

Trips out in the Dove Bug

Some of our ladies enjoyed a trip to the local seaside. The activity team made some snacks and a flask of tea to be enjoyed while they took in the lovely sights and sounds of the sea.

Chinese New Year

We celebrated the year of the Ox by holding a noodle challenge.

Valentines messages and Pancake Day

Pat, Joyce and Hazel shared some valuable relationship tips. Cook baked a batched of cupcakes which they decorated with messages of love. Hazel and June did a great demonstration on how to flip a pancake.

Doveridge Fundraiser!

Our recent sports day fundraiser total exceeded the amount we expected to raise. This meant we were able to purchase extra gifts of a sensory lamp and sweets for the local play group. Here Bex, one of our Activities Co-ordinators, is presenting the digital camera and sensory lamp to the playgroup leader, Kate.

Congratulations go to Ramune!

Congratulations go to Ramune Juciene on becoming the Registered Manager at Doveridge. Ramune has the necessary skills and is well qualified for this post.  She already holds a QCF Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care in Adults Residential Management. Ramune has considerable experience in her previous roles as Deputy Manager and Acting Manager. We wish Ramune every success in the future.

Burns night

Shortbread and a wee dram were enjoyed by all after their Burns Night celebration dinner. Sounds of bag pipes, poetry and songs were part of the Burns Night party.

Soap making

We raised the bar with sessions on how to make our own soap. The scents of roses and lavender brought back wonderful memories during the activity which saw a variety of soaps being made.

Armchair Travel.

We had an armchair travel to America. Hot dogs and doughnuts were washed down with root-beer.
